Howdy folks! Welcome to the start of my blog. This is where I'll be documenting my artistic career and thoughts. Today being the monumentous day one, I'll do a bit of both. Treat this post as a bit of exposition, a chance to get to know a little bit about me :)
(Heads up, I'm not really sure how any of this works, this being my first blog and all, so forgive any tangents or slip ups)
Howdy, I'm Ty. At the time of me writing this I am currently 16 years old living in the crown jewel of suburbia. I've never really been much of an artist before, and have instead been working my way through as many high level arithmetic based courses as possible. And (I start sentences with "and" sometimes, I feel it's appropriate for a conversational writing tone) while the courses do intrest me on some sense, I've always known that a life in those careerers would suck the life out of me. For the past eight-ish years (probabbly more like 11), I have been involved in theatre, and while I do love it, I'm just not passionate enough to pursue it (also my case of RBF makes the acting side of things rather difficult). So with the help of a few close friends and a lot of personal digging (apparently life won't just work itself out and your career will be fun and everything will be great all on its own, they never tell you these things) I've been pushing myself to convert to a more physical medium. What interests me most right now is graphic design (t-shirts, posters, logos, yada, yada, yada), plain ol' pen and paper (More on this later), and perhaps most peculiarly, carpentry. As far as the woodworking goes, I just love the idea of having little trinkets and doodiddle lying around the house that I made; in particular I love old wooden 3D puzzles, I loved taking those apart and remaking them as a child. As far as I know those toys have gone out of circulation years ago, but I could make some of my own. I have more to say on the topic of carpentry, but it doesn't go anywhere interesting, so I'll just be breif and say, I think it's got potential.
Now having lost my train of thought and gained a glass of lemonade, I'd like to talk a little bit about my inspiration. First of all, I try to look at a lot of art. I frequent apps like Pinterest and Youtube in search of talent and creators (I know instagram is a great place for this kind of stuff, but I just never was able to get into the groove of the app), beautiful games like Darkest Dungeon, Ori and the Blind Forst, or Hollow Knight push the mental cogs around, and I also occasionally buy different art books/ magazines to find creators I enjoy. I also derive a lot inspiration from ego; I mean really, is there anything better than someone looking at something you did and oggling over it for a bit (Now this is completely negated if you aren't proud of the work, than others appreciatrion really becomes more of a bullet in the chest than anything else). Perhaps most inpiring of all are some of the people I've known or am getting to know. (I don't need to list last names odds are you know who you are) People like Jackson, Andrew, Kaylee, Craig, Klein, all of them push me to do better and better with each step I take. Thanks guys.
Oops I got a little serious there.
Sorry.
Anyway, that's enough typing for today, I've got a nap to catch, but after that it's back to the grindstone. To anybody reading this, thanks for your time, sorry I don't finish thoughts well, but whatever. Ciao!
