Howdy folks! Welcome to the start of my blog. This is where I'll be documenting my artistic career and thoughts. Today being the monumentous day one, I'll do a bit of both. Treat this post as a bit of exposition, a chance to get to know a little bit about me :) (Heads up, I'm not really sure how any of this works, this being my first blog and all, so forgive any tangents or slip ups) Howdy, I'm Ty. At the time of me writing this I am currently 16 years old living in the crown jewel of suburbia. I've never really been much of an artist before, and have instead been working my way through as many high level arithmetic based courses as possible. And (I start sentences with "and" sometimes, I feel it's appropriate for a conversational writing tone) while the courses do intrest me on some sense, I've always known that a life in those careerers would suck the life out of me. Wasn't feeling too hot when I made this. Could've followed the prompt more when I created it. Next one is going to be a lot better. 

6 Words Project

The task given for the "6 Words" project, was to take six words (given by another student) and to create a piece representing those six words, while also including the words within the piece. The six words I was given were Keep Calm and Play Ice Hockey. Here is the piece I created: For this piece, I tryed to break away from the very restrictive guidelines the "Keep calm and ____" meme presents, so instead the style was derived primarily from my desire to allude to the "hockey player missing a tooth" cliché. To really draw focus to this element, I decided to go with the silhouette of a hockey player with everything besides the teeth being in stark contrast to the teeth themselves (by means of black/white opposition). From the teeth I also got this feeling of blockiness that I felt I could further in the design with my choice of text. The text also felt thematically in line, with hockey being an activity that would lean towards this genre of typography. Wit...
